Unique Contact Lenses for Unique Vision Needs
Sometimes, regular contacts can’t do the job you need them to. They may not meet your vision needs or be uncomfortable to wear. Specialty contact lenses can help you enjoy clear vision that doesn’t irritate your eyes.
Visit us for a contact lens exam and fitting—we’re excited to help you find comfortable contact lenses.
Determining Your Ideal Contact Lenses
During your contact lens exam, we’ll examine your eyes, review your medical history, and recommend and fit your lenses. We’ll discuss your lifestyle, medical history, and previous experience with contact lenses if you have any.
Everyone’s vision situation is unique, and we take a personalized approach to each patient. We’ll determine your vision needs and recommend appropriate contact lenses.
Our Specialty Contact Lenses
We offer many contact lenses at Eye Sea Davis Optometry, designed for patients with unique vision needs. Contact lenses used to be too difficult for many patients to wear, but today’s technology lets almost anyone enjoy glasses-free vision.
Some specialty contact lenses include multifocal, rigid gas permeable, daily disposable, and orthokeratology lenses.
Multifocal Toric Lenses
Toric contact lenses provide clear vision for patients with astigmatism. These lenses have different prescriptions in different portions of the lens, designed to help someone with an irregular cornea see clearly. These lenses have a weighted bottom to prevent shifting, keeping the prescription zones where they need to be.
Multifocal toric lenses can help people with astigmatism and presbyopia see clearly from all distances.
Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses
Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses are durable contact lenses, making them easier to handle and maintain. They provide crisp, clear vision due to their firmer material. RGP lenses can take some time to get used to, but many patients enjoy these contacts.
Daily Disposable Lenses
Disposable contact lenses are soft lenses designed for daily replacement. You wear a fresh pair of lenses every day, avoiding the need for regular cleaning and maintenance. These lenses are comfortable and can be ideal for someone new to contact lenses.
Ortho-K/CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy)
Orthokeratology (ortho-k) contact lenses are specialty lenses designed to reshape the cornea. You remove these lenses in the morning and enjoy clear vision during the day without needing glasses. Besides correcting vision, these lenses are also a way to control myopia progression.
MiSight Contact Lenses
MiSight 1 day lenses are soft contact lenses that can help children manage myopia. While correcting nearsightedness, MiSight lenses can also slow the progression of myopia with focal zones that help correct myopia in all gaze positions. With MiSight lenses, 2 correction zones work in conjunction with the lenses’ treatment zones to slow axial elongation.
Scleral Contact Lenses
Scleral contact lenses are larger than traditional contacts and rest on your sclera—the white part of your eyes. These lenses allow for extra space over your cornea’s surface that helps improve breathability and can create a fluid reservoir between your lens and cornea to help relieve dry eyes. Scleral lenses can be an excellent option if traditional contact lenses aren’t compatible with your eyes due to issues like dry eye and keratoconus.
