What Is OptiLight by Lumenis?

OptiLight is a non-invasive treatment used to manage dry eye disease, reducing inflammation in the eyelids. The treatment device uses pulses of light to reduce eye inflammation, which helps improve tear break-up time and meibomian gland function. You can experience longer-lasting tears after several OptiLight treatment sessions.

OptiLight may not be for everyone, so we’ll determine your eligibility during a comprehensive eye exam. Our team will recommend OptiLight or another treatment to meet your dry eye needs.

What to Expect During Treatment

Before your treatment, we’ll provide you with detailed instructions on what to do to prepare. On the day of your appointment, our team will apply a gel to the treatment area and cover your eyes with protective shields.

Your procedure involves applying light to the treatment area, taking 10 to 15 minutes to complete. After your treatment, we’ll provide you with aftercare instructions until your next appointment. The number of sessions you require can vary—some patients may need more treatments than others.
